Deans Court

... my room in Deans Court. 

Deans Court is a small university dormitory house (a hall of residence) in St Andrews. 

There is even an article in Wikipedia that introduces this 800 years old building.

It accommodates about 50 postgraduates, and we eat meals together in the dining hall. 

I moved here last September, so it is now more than eight months that I've lived here. 

I like my room, which is the first room just next to the main hall on the ground floor of the main part of the building. 

It means that my room is at the very centre of this building.

But it is always quiet and the scene viewed from my window is peaceful. 

When the window's open, I can hear birds singing and the sound of waves from the beach, which is not far from here.  

I like sitting at the desk lost in thought from time to time in the afternoon, as I am doing now.

Due to the tall trees it is not very bright inside the room, but still is not as dark as needs to turn on the light. 

I leave this room in a few months. 

I'm moving to Edinburgh this September, where I'll stay until the end of my study. 

In my life, my family and I used to move so often from the time when I was too little to remember, 

that it should be no surprise for me to be accustomed to this nomadic pattern of life. 

But the reality is ... 

still it brings me a strong emotional surge.

I'm certain that I will miss this room, the scene, the sound, the air and the moments .. someday in the future.
